Marguerite Jane Schultz, 1922-2011

One and All - It is with great sadness that I must report that my wife, Marguerite Schultz, passed away this morning of pneumonia. To the world she was known as the "Tarantula Lady," or the "Grande Dame" of tarantulas. She is best known as co-author of The Tarantula Keeper's Gui...

Re: Kinky king

I am for euthanasia.

As the other posters aptly said, it goes south.

Who ever is responsible for breeding this snake should never have introduced this snake to the hobby, and should have euthanised shortly after birth.

Lampropeltis getula nigrita (Mexican kingsnake) - Agression

Hi all, I have a pair of juvie to sub-adult Lampropeltis getula nigrita's housed together at the moment until my enclosures to separate are completed. What I've observed, and is unlike any time before, is that the girl is excessively aggressive. I've tried feeding, but she keeps striking and leaving...

Re: Gerbils

Sorry to hear about that Chamcode,

This is the exact reason I am asking the question.

I think, and not to bash NatCon either, they need passionate and skilled people.

That would clear a whole lot of headaches.

Re: Gerbils

What I thought too.

The wonder of the regulations, good and bad, catch 22 I guess, as with a lot of other things.

Thank you for the info BV.

Re: Gerbils

@ BV,

it is wat I suspected. I asked because I saw a lot at petshops myself, and I remembered the whole rap about gerbils a while back, and its not just one petshop, it's a few.

What can be done here?

Re: Gerbils

It is exactly because I see them so freely available that I ask.

Next question though, how many of you have some? And do you guys use them as feeders too?

PS - I know to a degree it makes expensive feeders, but nevertheless.

Gerbils

Before I get flamed for not using the search function, I did not want to resurrect ancient threads. The question I have, is this - What is the legality involved when it comes to gerbils? Are they legal/illegal to keep? There are a lot of cloak and dagger stories doing the round, that they are, and t...

Not really new...

Hi There,

I am not really new to the hobby or the forum,

I've been lurking for quite some time.

Some of you might know me from the Tarantula hobby.

I've been keeping snakes and tarantulas for about 6-7 years.

I have had the privilege to meet some of the members here.
