Re: Rather Sad find.

@mania, Not sure what the black mark on the spine was, it was not dirt, might have been bruising. I did do a partial necropsy to see if there was any hemorrhaging but did not find any signs of it, so I do not think it was ridden over. The lung also looked fine, no fluid so it probably didn't drown. ...

I have found an Albino Boa Constrictor unfortunately it had just died maybe a two or three hours ago(no rigor mortis yet). Not sure o...

Re: Egg Bound, Paralysis

Thanks for the replies guys, it's an unfortunate thing to happen but it does.
There is more bad news as the eggs she did lay all look fertile and white but are not developing, there is no vein growth when I candle them.

Re: First Attempt Building Enclosures

Melamine is pretty much what everybody uses, so no real problems there beside the need to seal it very well: Such as applying waterproof woodglue or silicone to the exposed edges before joining. And a further bead of silicon on internal corners. Any water or humidity will cause it to swell tremendou...

Re: Egg Bound, Paralysis

Well I am not sure what caused the paralysis, no further tests have been carried out. It may very well be a calcium deficiency. She is currently on Calcium gluconate 1mg dose twice daily since the the eggs were removed but has still not shown any improvement as of yet. Whatever the cause of the para...

Egg Bound, Paralysis

So a rather unfortunate circumstance has happened to one of my snakes. One of my Black rat snake females began to lay her eggs on Monday the 24th, in the morning I saw she had laid 8 eggs with perhaps another 3 still to go. By the time I got home in the evening she had not laid any more, I was not t...

Re: rc-112e

The diagram shows pin 2 is COM so you must connect you heater to pins 2 and 3.

If you connect pins 1 and 2 that's basically for cooling because your load will only turn on when you hit your set temps.

Re: rc-112e

Change your load to work on 1 and 3 so that the load is normally on(closed circuit) but turns off when relay turns on(reaches temp).

Re: Revival of GTR

I don't think this is right, it just seems too simple, but here is my guess anyway.

Galapagos land iguana (Conolophus subcristatus)
