You should try using roaches they do a good job at cleaning meat off bones.

Re: Breeding Roaches

Dubia's mature from 4 to 6 months. The only downside to using Dubia's is that they can and do burrow. the males on the other hand are very active and will explore the cage where the females and the rest will find a spot to hide or burrow. All roaches have about the same gestation and growth rate, th...

Re: Breeding Roaches

A little off topic, not meant to use the water gel or gel balls for spiders and scorpions, it gets allot of bacteria on it, just pure water. For roaches on the other hand it is fine. But normally the roaches get their moisture from the fruit and veg you give them. I normally mist the top of the egg ...

Re: 1st instar curly hair

Your paper towel is to wet, you need to remove them ASAP and redo it, or they going to start dying like flies.

At this stage you can even place them on palm peat and they will be fine.

I will post a picture for you in a short bit to show what I mean about the paper towels.

Re: Breeding Roaches

As Urucone said, to have more than one colony going is a good idea, One thing that happens when feeding directly out of your breeding colony, is that you wipe the population out before you know it. If you are starting a new colony the best thing you can do is leave it for atleast 2 years before you ...

Re: Reptile food distributor burned down UK.

Do they know the cause of the fire? I take it they have lost all their stock? I'm surprised they have let them back into the building to clean it, if you look at the steel structure the steel started to bend, the fire must have been intense. I would think the Fire Chief and structural engineer would...

Re: 1st instar curly hair

AS BV said, keep them off the heating source. All you need to do is have them next to the reptile heater. And just keep the paper towel moist , not too moist or they will start dieing. Resize your photo's first then try posting them. If you don't come right with resizing you can email them to me @ t...

Re: 1st instar curly hair

Can you get some pictures of the 1st instr slings and post them for us?

1st instr don't need much in the way of care.
All you have to do is keep them on moist/damp substrate (paper towel or palm peat) until they molt to 2nd instr.

Re: Setting up a Crocodile Farm

First port of call would be to head off to your local municipality, to the town planner department, the will be able to advise with regards to what you can and can't do on the property, they will also give you zoning information for the area you choose to start the farm, they might also require a SD...

Re: Please Identify this Tarantula

Actually been thinking about it, he is not in Gauteng, rules and regulation differ from Provinces. Tell your friend to contact NATCON in your area and talk to someone in this regard to getting a keeping permit for a baboon spider, don't call it a tarantula as that will just confuse matters and make ...
