Hi Robyn I don't know that much about Garter snakes, but in my personal opinion I would think that a Kenyan sand boa is a very good snake to start with, if you are not looking for something that gets to big, if I'm correct the average size of an adult female is about 60cm and males smaller. after keening her cage I forgot to lock the glass slid door and she opened it. The cage is in the garage so there is a lot of hiding place, but after searching for about 3 ours and no luck
I also hope I find her, and this mit be weird but she means a lot to me
