Work opportunity

I am offering a part time position for a (young) person, preferably based in the Hillcrest area. This person should have own transport and be keen to grow a business. The business is a rapidly growing rodent breeding concern. Work would currently be two days a week but may evolve into more. Interest...

Re: Rack System Retailers?

Sadly racking systems are only just starting to take off and are expensive. If you'd like any advice on building your own, don't hesitate to contact me. 0828946783. Alternatively, give me a deadline and I'll see if I can match it.

Re: Rack System Retailers?

I do racking systems to suit all sorts. I have a rack of 6, 12 or 20 tubs suitable for medium to faitly large Ball Pythons. If I get enough orders together at once, I drive them up from Durban, splitting the transport costs.

Re: Some of my Amazing Amazons

@ Jantus, the reasons for the stillborn babies is said to be high temperatures towards the end of incubation but this is not 100% certain.
As for the slugs, these are unfertilised eggs and are probably a result the male being too warm over winter.

Re: Some of my Amazing Amazons

Ah yes. She is called a calico. I have only produced one such animal. The deceased ones in the recent photos are also calicos. Sadly! I'll keep you posted next season if I produce any more.

Re: Some of my Amazing Amazons

Those in the second photo are stillborn, possibly calicoes but also may not have fully developed colour. In the third photo are a variety of colours, mainly orangey yellow and yellow.
Those in the third photo are available.

Re: Some of my Amazing Amazons

This year, 2012, I had the best and worse season breeding my Amazons ever. Best number wise, worst due to still-borns and slugs. Sigh. I suppose you have to take the good with the bad. The worst first. I had a really large female look really good and drop a clutch of slugs. These have no commercial ...

Re: Business Etiquette?

This is actually quite a big thing. At expos I often have people say "keep that aside for me, I'm going to draw money" or whatever. Then I never see them again. I have lost potential sales because of this. What makes this worse is that the original interested party is often so embarrassed ...

Re: What the hell!

I just realised, it can't be Neville's. He has KZN permits so his animals would stop at the border between KZN and Gauteng.

There was a post concerning this some time time ago, if I recall. Neville Wolmarans may know more.

Re: Unsafe Containers as Randburg Reptile Expo

Thank you for this post! This started as a fair comment on venomous snake containers and has shifted to pricing and market conditions. For what it's worth, it was my stand selling the cheap watches, or the Corns for R100. Every single snake we sell has fed before we sell it. I have been around for a...

Re: Your pain pics...

Starting to feel a bit left out here, I thought I'd post some more of my misfortunes. Last July I dropped the spinning blade of my cut-off saw onto my left middle finger. The blade slid off the bone but cut the tendon. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u198/Byronz/IMG00490-20110705-1238.jpg The ten...
