Suitable substrate

I have had my brown house snake for almost a year now and have mainly been using Aspen Snake Bedding. Just out of curiosity should I stick to this or get something nicer? She is about one year old. There should be enough rough surfaces for her. I've got one of those sticks but maybe a extra thing will help. What would you recommend? I am using Aspen snake bedding. I live in Cape Town so the humidity has not been great but my friends snake is shedding with ease. :smt017

I can't see the white line running through the eye so i tried to take a close up, if you can see the tip of the nose a slight red. Jamster you are the expert I just wanted to make sure that it is a bhs. :-?
