Re: Breeze, our lady B. Dragon

Shes a cutie! I have five, some are more vegetarian than others, but what can help is to make a 'wriggly salad', that is, finely chopped mulberry leaves, grated carrot/butternut, chopped lucerne etc. with added mealworms. Tried that last week and she gave me this look, and didn't eat anything for t...

Hey! In this house, us females like our veggies, but yes, we are stubborn  Only way to be able to handle three "men". :D

Re: Breeze, our lady B. Dragon

Ag I'll work on it. I tried giving her a piece of veg inbetween dropping worms on her rock, but she spit it out. Yesterday she grabbed a superworm who clung to a small, small piece of veg, she gave him one bite and spit him and the veg out! Then she turned her back on me and got back into her home!

Re: Breeze, our lady B. Dragon

She has been with us now for a week, was stressed, and I was quilty for part of it, by changing her house! I'm struggling a bit to get her to eat veg, but she likes her superworms and mealworms. Looks as if she doesn't know veg at all!? Took this photo this afternoon, and it looks as if she has more...

Bearded Dragon toe nails

Good morning, Breeze's toe nail got caught in the repti-carpet this morning, so she was actually "stuck" in her hidey-hole. She has non-slip bathroom tiles and now some very fine grit sandpaper as substrate, along with the branches and rocks. Would this be enough to "file" her na...

Re: Breeze, our lady B. Dragon

Thanks Aadil, we are keeping an eye. She has licked it a couple times, but not nibbled yet. She has also licked the stumps, the rocks, and sniffed her food bowl, but didn't eat anything we could see, except she caught the two crickets now that we gave her yesterday. Was thinking of replacing the pla...

Re: Breeze, our lady B. Dragon

Thanks Reptile! Yes, it was love at first sight :smt007 He called me over last night, she had run to the one side of her house, lifting her front paw against the glass, and pressing her nose against it as well. So we opened up, and she climbed out on to the table! She ran-walked infront of it (slipp...

Re: Breeze, our lady B. Dragon

And later tonight, after replacing the 100W basking light with a 25W basking, bringing the temperature on the hot side down to 38-40C, Breeze, the lady (with an attitude!) sat basking to her heart's content. 18-Sept2014-Breeze.JPG I thought she was dehydrated because of the skin folds, and she looks...

Breeze, our lady B. Dragon

We brought Breeze home today. Hubby had to quickly install the lights, and we kept Breeze in her "travelling" cage while getting the new home ready. 1. In the travelling cage on the stoep, enjoying some well deserved sunlight. 04-Sept2014-nuut.JPG 2. Adam showing Breeze everything that is ...

Re: Contradictory advice

Thanks Inyanga! Your advice helps a lot especially about the galvanised mesh. Luckily I know not to put the whole glass tank outside. I really need to get an inside and outside cage as we have lots and lots of sunshine here in Natal. Especially winter, summer and autumn. Spring is miserable, plain a...

Re: Introduction from Pmb

Oh my Predator, what a sight that must have been! Your poor mom! Now something similar happened when a brown house snake came into our house one winter's evening. I had Adam (still a baby then) in my arms and stepped on the snake barefooted. Made a jump maybe 2-2.5m far. Hubby cornered the snake in ...
