Dog food is real bad for them can cuase all sorts of problems including liver failure(due to the high protien and other ingredients).I have read that a meat based diet is also very bad for them but i know enough about them to know they are scavengers in the wild that will eat everything they can get...

I dont have a clue why its being got rid of other than what i read here. I think it should stay even living in the u.k when I hear the word springbok I instantly think S.A rugby team.

do u feed a purely mouse diet??over here its a general feeling that they should be on a mainly insect diet. I used to throw mine the odd mousey treat but not as a main diet.

saying this tho I do still know of some keepers who think its fine to feed them dog food and wont hear any different.

All apart from the fat tail and dogs are my ex collection. We had kid number 6 so I couldnt spare the room in my house anymore.

All went on to live with friends of mine so I know they went to good homes.
