We went to the farm this weekend and on the road I found a tortoise that had been run over but still alive. I was heartbroken and didn't know what to do. I just put it in the bush. It broke my heart

Hey there. Firstly, well done on going indigenous. I think that from a conservation standpoint, the more people interested in local snakes, the better. Technically all morphs of corn snakes are natural although the pet trade has manipulated them quite a lot where the genes would not usually cross in...

I agree with Steve. Mild is a very relative term. A red lip herald and a night adder are both said to have mild venom, but the bites and symptoms differ immensely (sp?). Always be carefull when handling them. The bite won't kill you, but you'll have something to tell your friends for a long time to ...

I agree with BB. Housing different species of snake together is never a good idea.
I have done so in the past for short periods of time, but as a rule it should be avoided.

Another funny thing. A puff adder is a puff adder. Why they would say a Cape Puff Adder is allready wrong. If it was a puffy from the cape they should say a puffy from the cape, not a Cape Puff Adder.
