The only way to reliably sex adult or sub-adult snakes is by probing them, if you have never done this before, I would suggest you find someone to properly show you how.

Diesel, advertising this scorpion as for sale/to swop is as bad as keeping it illegally. You cannot sell something to a permit holder without being in possesion of a permit yourself. The reason why they are protected now is to kurb the trade in them.

Before they start looking at problem exotic animals, they should look at domestic cats and dogs running wild. Cats pose a greater threat to biodiversity than a large amount of released exotics ever will.

I had the same problem a while ago, the rat did not go for anything on the traps until it tied the bone of a lamb tjop (left over from braai) onto the trap - and the next morning I had a bulging eye rat with a serious head ache.
