Re: Crested gecko breeder CT

We selling both Crested and Gargoyle geckos at Reptile Garden based inside Stodel nursery on Eversdal Rd bellville. They are the easiest of captives and I have never had one drop a tail with handling even with kids parties.

Obviously these are not skittish individuals and they are handled gently.

Re: Western Hognose Breeders

Agreed! These are awesome snakes, I so forgot about this post. Very interesting species to keep but watch your fingers for the ones with an appetite of a Reticulated pyhon. Had a few people chopped on, that work at my park with a few. Shame even the girlfriend. Of which there was no harm unless you ...

Re: Rock Monitor (Varanus albigularis) envenomation

Arno, Lourance did try and get hold of you but it went to voice mail.

As you say it just takes an allergic reaction and then there is trouble. When I felt like I might pass out it was fairly worrying.

Re: Rock Monitor (Varanus albigularis) envenomation

Yes I rather take on most python bites before a monitor. They can be potentially mutilating.

Re: Rock Monitor (Varanus albigularis) envenomation

I personally don't think that the venom of Rock Monitors is used for hunting but they are related to the Komodo Dragon. I do think it makes a massive difference to how you are bitten and duration. Then it may also affect certain people and not others. Venom is very complex and when you hear of guys ...

Rock Monitor (Varanus albigularis) envenomation

If you read the heading and your thinking what is this guy on about then just hear me out. On Sunday we were going to clean the glass of the one Rock Monitor cages. So I wanted to get the little guy (snout to vent around 40cm) out first but he has a heavy feeding response. As I opened the glass he c...

Re: Installing Tracks for Glass

I have found that sikaflex multipurpose works the best. It goes hard like rubber and bond almost anything. Just sand the underneath of the track so it makes for better bonding. Stuff is not that cheap which is the only problem.
