Re: Export of Rinkhals

Anyone got a photo of what the green phase looks like all grown up?
Rinkals change a lot as they get older.
I have just got home from 2 rinkals call outs (South of JHB) they are super common and really one of my favourite snakes.

Re: Local anti venom for exotic species

You said it did not work for Naja kouthia, what happened in that case? Has it been tried again? Are there any more bite histories for Naja kouthia in SA?

Re: South Africa's Bite Darwin Award Winners

I think these guys are doing us a favour... They do stupid things and get bit. The Bite gives us an idea of what happens when we get bitten, which makes us more careful when working with our snakes and it also give the doctors some practice, so if we do get bitten by accident, the doctors have some ...

Re: Puff Adder (Bitis arietans) Bite Protocol

Ok, I think best place to start is by asking: "Who's been tagged by a puffie, how was it managed and what was the outcome?" Also I am keen on hearing about cases where no anti-venom was used at all. Does the suport treatment actually help? What about in rural places where Hospitals are not...

Re: At my wit's end!

BV, I think restricting people with complaints against them may not be a good idea... For exsample, I don't like Bob Mgabe, so I could post here that he owes me a pair of Albino Gaboons, which I paid for and everything... you restrict him but who's to say that I was completely honest in the first pl...

Re: Not that common Eggeater

Damn!!!! Just think how it would look if it had some Orange banded blood in it! That is so sad! Any Idea what area it was found in? but even so, what would be the chances of finding more? But surly it must have had brothers and sisters!!! Would it work to take a pair of Rinkals, then breed them, the...
