Re: Looking for a Western Hognose

You may have more luck asking on the various local Facebook groups. "Reptile Traders SA" is a good one.

Re: Soaking Boas

Its not unusual for a boa 'not' to soak. You may find him soaking during the shedding cycle. Also if the humidity is high the snake may not soak at all.

Re: Local Reptile Shipping

I have shipped from Durban to Cape Town using Bidvest Air Cargo. You could try your local airport and see if any of the smaller airlines allow the shipping of 'pets'.

Re: Frog ID

Yes they are quite varied in pattern and coloration. As you may know, 3 species of Painted/Marbled Reed Frog (mamoratus, taeniatus and verrucosus) are defined and within each there is considerable variation. See Tyrone Pings excellent photos of the variation: http://www.tyroneping.co.za/amphibians/h...

Re: Leg injury??

Hi Monica,

I am no expert on Bearded Dragons, but it sounds like your lizard will be OKAY since he was acting fine 'after' the incident.

If the leg was broken he would not be able to use it, as you say.

I would only panic or act if he is walking or behaving oddly.

OK FIXED!

The gallery should work as expected. Please report any problems here.

P.S. - the username "galleryBot" above - was just a non-admin profile I used for testing.

Re: Ottoman Viper Breeding

Hello jd7?

Yes these are venomous, that's why they are posted in the 'Exotic highly venomous snakes' forum. :)

And yes I am selling offspring. The advert is in the classifieds.

Re: Levant Blunt-nosed viper breeding

I hibernated them for 3 months, of which 2 of those months were down to 7 degrees centigrade.

I will add updates on the other clutches and babies to this post.
