Re: Photograph your Reptiles in Action

This is a wild caught Rinkhals but now captive kept at Hunyani Reptile Park. We took it out to get some shots of it in a park in Edenvale. It was good fun as I would wait for the handler to provoke a spit by moving towards the snake and at the same time anticipate the spitting action and take the sh...

Re: SOS² Reptile Expo 1 & 2 May 2010

Thanx Bushviper. I wasn't trying to make a scene I was just looking out for the animals we all love. I will let Bushbaby know of some of the exhibitors. That's all I wanted, awareness.

I won't bug you guys again. Thanks for the help. Great show!!

Re: SOS² Reptile Expo 1 & 2 May 2010

Bushviper, I said "IT WAS BUSY". I didn't want to make a scene at the expo like I said. It's just been bugging me so much. See, maybe that's what happened. The vet was there saturday morning but I was there Sunday afternoon. Maybe the vets only saw the acceptable ones? Just throwing it out...

Re: SOS² Reptile Expo 1 & 2 May 2010

Thanks Redmachine. The injury wasn't from the duration of the expo, it deffinitaly happened before the expo. I will not name any places with the geckos because its not right, but if push comes to shove I might have to. I heard the state vet was supposed to be there? Does anyone know if they were?

Re: SOS² Reptile Expo 1 & 2 May 2010

Unfortunately I didn't because at the time I was there it was so busy and quite frankly, I was so upset I would have probibly lost my cool, said some things I shouldn't have and get thrown out. Didn't really want to ruin it for anyone else. I am just trying to find out if I was the only one who saw ...

Re: SOS² Reptile Expo 1 & 2 May 2010

I am not blaming the expo. I should have worded that better. I'm am sorry. What I meant is what's the excuse of the exhibitors at the expo? Like I said earlier, expo was great except the Leo's condition.

Re: SOS² Reptile Expo 1 & 2 May 2010

Nope, they weren't even morphs. I actually saw some morphs the same price as normal ones???? Were they ALL in this together because there were almost NO price differences at all the stalls??? When I bought my gecko I found some others the same size for R900, but that was expected because they were m...

Re: SOS² Reptile Expo 1 & 2 May 2010

They started at R500 for ones just bigger than newly hatched. Then R900 for anything as big as a thumb and like over a thousand for some bigs ones. I found 1 for R300, but that was so tiny it looked like it should still belong in the egg. I just spoke to someone else who went and I asked them on the...

Re: SOS² Reptile Expo 1 & 2 May 2010

Outraged! I was at the expo on Sunday and the snakes were amazing, the chameleons, iguana's, monitors were all amazing. Scorpions and spiders (not my thing) but cool. What I am outraged about is the poor condition of the leopard gecko's. Between my girlfriend and myself we counted at least ten littl...

Re: Advice from the "family"

I am using my Dads a200 untill I finish my photography studies, it's a brilliant camera for "point and shoot" and Auto shooting, but anything more than that it is terrible! Their lenses are cr@p and can never really obtain true sharpness, the ecceseries are flippen expensive and hard to fi...

Re: Leopard turmoil

Matty, are your reptiles on drugs? Here are a couple pics of the big bullie. I cropped right up to the right eye so you can see if she is blind. http://www.sareptiles.co.za/gallery/albums/userpics/16717/4.jpg http://www.sareptiles.co.za/gallery/albums/userpics/16717/5.jpg http://www.sareptiles.co.za...
