Re: What spider is this? found at Western Cape Langebaan

All spiders are venomous, so to go to a doctor will definitely be a good idea, unfortunately I don't know what spider it is, some people get bad allergic reactions vomiting, necrosis, respiratory conditions to the venom even if a spider's venom isn't seen as life threatening

Re: uv / black light

There's a difference between a black light and a uv light, a black light is a dark almost black globe where as a u.v light is see through, a u.v light will kill a animal where as a black light won't Black lights you can pick up at most large hardware stores where U.v lights is used in the pet and co...

Re: JHB Expo

I have to admit the atmosphere was better than usual but I think all the kids (future of the reptile community) made the difference.

@ Steven and Ian - Keep on doing what you're doing, you have all our support in getting the younger generation to join in.

Re: New to White Lips and Venemous

You can scent a pinkie with a gecko's tail, gecko's loose their tails so there is no cause for any unnecessary deaths. White lip female have an aggressive feeding response, so rather keep them separate, be careful for heating from a light fixture it could dry the air, exo terra cages has ventilation...

Re: Ball Python Bedding/Substrate

The big thing is that marltons had trading rights with zoo med, they stopped doing business with zoo med due to the lack of interest in south africa, so even petshops can't get it, Usually I can bring products in through my suppliers but if the supplier dont have trade rights it's impossible to get ...

Re: whitelip tree viper breeding help

I would keep them separate, males tend to look more intimidated by the females, females feeding response are aggressive so they tend to grab males when keeping them in a small enclosure together, Females are aggressive so keeping two females I won't recommend and keeping a male with two females is a...

Re: new legislation on invasive species

I am very disappointed in the list, this will cause a big dent in the reptile community, i have to run around and get permits on my gabby's, not that i have ten million other stuff to do, but in the long term this may cause an increase in value for certain reptiles namely corn snakes but that's if t...

Re: My female BPs

if you cant find multi's or she 's not interested in multi's, you can always try a hamster, I had a few stubborn snakes that took hamsters and I had great results at the end from wild caught to Bp's that went of food due to R.I.
