Re: Mice/Rat breeding

I see most Petshops around Cape Town are selling the small CO2 cylinders for around R500-R600 so I dont see any reason not to use CO2.All you need is the cylinder a piece of hose pipe and a black bag.I have never refilled my original cylinder and its been a few years of use already.

Re: Mice/Rat breeding

CO2 is the only acceptable way. Just Google it very simple and cheap to diy so no excuses for unnecessary cruelty.

Re: Duberria lutrix feeding

Having them in your garden is nice but sad part is that they always seem to end up under the lawnmower or chopped up by the edge trimmers.

Re: Where to find Reptile Incubator

I changed over to the water because I believe it will take longer to loose heat in the event of power loss/loadsheading.

Re: Very interesting boomslang (possible morph)

I don't know the head shape looks wrong for Boomslang.Scales look very smooth in the pic as well.
Looks more like Psammorphis.Body shape reminds me of Psammorphis mossambicus.

Re: Enclosure Advice needed

Chad it's a sad fact none of the breeders ever bother getting back to people. The only time they seem to respond is if you are looking for high value snakes then of course they will go out of their way to make sure you buy from them .Have a look at the bigger petshop they usually have ball pythons a...

Re: Acquiring a Cape Cobra-Eastern Cape

Hi.Michael is right they can be kept easily but definitely there are different temperaments among cobras as there are in people. The best ones to keep are captive bred with relaxed natures. A. Allen I agree with you.I have caught some very relaxed individuals and then again some really crazy hyperac...

Re: Acquiring a Cape Cobra-Eastern Cape

I don't see why you would want to keep one.I catch them every summer in local houses and gardens and honestly they just are not suited to captivity. Most Cape Cobras dont settle down and usually end up damaging their snouts as they continually try and find a way to escape.

Re: Mist generator?

You guys are making things way too complicated.I have never seen or heard of any red tail boa keepers using this extra equipment.Do a little online research. You are confusing Red Tail Boas and the Emerald Green Tree Boas with regards to humidity requirements. All a red tail needs is correct temperat...
