Re: Crazy Black Mamba

Venom toxicity varies dramatically from animal to animal and often size has nothing to do with it at all. So the fact that a BM can kill a 2000lb+ giraffe doesn't necessarily mean that it could kill a 400lb Lion (through I have seen many accounts of Lions dieing from snakebites...but they were not M...

Re: Your opinion on Rattlesnake Republic

The only animal documentaries that still have credibility have to be narrated by David Attenborough. To bad he is now retired. The last one he made was Life In Cold Blood. Frozen planet was excellent....Check it out if you haven't seen it. And yes I find the constant string of "hillbilly shows...

Re: What freaks you out ?

Most of us in South Africa are lucky enough to be living outside the Tsetse fly's range. They only occur in a small area in South Africa. Yeah he said they were the worst thing he has ever experienced...I think he was in Tanzania when he got destroyed by them..worse than ticks So whats the bigger d...

Re: What freaks you out ?

Yoson we have birds here that have ticks as a large part of their diet. Lucky us. By the way one of my friends who has been to Africa many times (I've only been to Africa 1 time and it was very brief) that apparently Tsetse Flies are the true #1 hell-spawns of the continent and make ticks look like...

Re: What freaks you out ?

Yea Oxpeckers and Guinea Fowl right???? Lucky for the animals more like!!! Look what happened to the unlucky Moose....damn evil parasites!! This is what annoys me about ticks (other than how disgusting they are) "We don't seem to have any natural allies in tick control. It's not well known what...

Re: What freaks you out ?

Wow... Poor snake. Was it still alive? It wasn't me who found it ( the snake was in Australia and I live in America) but according to the guy who posted it the snake was extremely ill for awhile but eventually recovered.....The Moose on the other hand wasn't so lucky :( :( My main problem with them...

Re: Animal Rights. A winning formula or a recipe for disaste

A war on religion is a good thing as far as I'm concerned...I think it's LONG overdue that we accept reality and give up our tribal monkey brain induced fantasies mainly driven out of the fact that we are aware of our own eventual mortality....which freaks us out. But I do agree that many animals ri...

Re: Death's just a bite away

Yes and there is a big difference between a human being and a snake . In the mind of humans their is....But in reality there isn't...No species on earth is "more valuable than the other" as far as the earth is concerned....Everything is equally as worthless and disposable. If humans were ...

Re: Crazy Black Mamba

I couldn't watch the video with sound, but that looks like a Veiled Chameleon to me. I can't think of anywhere in the world where these two species overlap, so I wonder if it was staged. Or it's one of the other Chamaeleo species I do not recognize. Cool video though 99.9999999999 percent of these ...

Re: Naja atra bite/envenomation study

Some Asian Cobras from certain areas can be horribly necrotic....worse in some cases than the vipers they share a range with...And I'm not talking about spitting cobras...I'm talking about regular cobras... For Russell’s viper: (D. russelii) bites (319 cases), local swelling and regional lymphadenop...
