Re: Busted at the border

Just had a call from Natcon again. She said that Leon said that she should explain that they are doing nationwide inspections currently and that it is being done so they can get a clear idea on how many reptiles are being kept by each individual. Looks like Leon Muller is at the head of all these i...

Re: KZN reptile inspection and raids

Heard from a friend that Mr. Leon Muller (N/Cape conservation Dep.) has an obsession with little adders. So if you have had them or suspected to be in possession of them expect a knock. O`yes there has been a confirmed report that someone among you believe that by pimping will give you favors. :smt...

Re: Busted at the border

The magistrate asked the NC department rep if he would have given the accused a permit to transport the animals. The answer was YES. This without a question was an outright lie  I just spoke to the NC rep about what happened in court and on this fact the question was if the accused applied w...

Re: Tame Mamba?

This was on Cart Blance last night. This guy is something else. He stands stroking this mamba if it is his pet dog. I must say he handles it with his hand and a grab stick but does not close the crab stick. The poor TV guys nearly sh#$t themselves being this close to the mamba. One thing for sure no...

Re: A cause for concern (PLEASE READ)

I envision very soon that the other provinces will outlaw exotic venomous snakes. Northern Cape have already under their new act outlawed all venomous snakes even indigenous ones. When I inquired what the motivation for this was I was told that the just this free handling and the possibility of bei...

Pofadder-dalk-meer-pof-as-byt

Found this in the Volksblad this morning. What concerns me is that it seems he only did this with one puff adder and its personality might have been a docile one. You might get people going out there and testing his theory and getting bitten. :smt017 http://www.volksblad.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Pofadde...

Re: South Africa's Bite Darwin Award Winners

It is because of actions like this that Nat Con in the Northern Cape has stopped the keeping of any venomous snakes in Total. Their new act which is about to come in effect in the next few months spells it out clearly no venomous snakes. Thank you John Eckley!!!!! :smt013 :smt011 :smt014

Re: Permits needed??

In the Northern cape you need a permit for all reptiles or any action with them. You guys in KZN I found this in the old Natal act is it still in action "104 Export and import (1) Save as provided in subsection (2) - (a) no person shall export from the Province any indigenous amphibian, inverte...
