Re: Differentiating Between Eastern Green Mamba Localities

Here is an illustration of the black coloration inbetween the scales of a D. angusticeps. http://thereptilereport.com/beautiful-green-mamba/ Does anybody know why some specimens have it and some don't? For those of you who live in South Africa, do the D. angusticeps in your area have this black colo...

Differentiating Between Eastern Green Mamba Localities

I have a question for all you Eastern Green Mamba experts out there. Is there a way to tell which locality an Eastern Green Mamba is just by looking at it? I have a female Eastern Green Mamba that is perfectly green and I have a male Eastern Green Mamba that has some black coloration between it's sc...

Re: Snakehunting

I'm just bringing this topic up for discussion. I don't know if I'd really go out and catch mambas. Obviously, a captive bred individual is generally going to be healthier, eat better, and maybe even reproduce better due to the lower stress volumes as opposed to a wild caught individual. How many pe...

Re: Snakehunting

The reason I ask is because if I lived in Africa, I'd want to go catch cobras and mambas in the wild for my own collection. Eventually I'd try to breed them and keep the babies and release the adults. I wasn't sure if anybody does that sort of thing.

Snakehunting

Are there a lot of people in Africa that collect cobras and mambas from the wild for their collections or is that frowned upon by herpetoculturists?

Re: N.annulifera drinking

What is the largest that Naja annulifera grows to be as an adult? I've heard anywhere from 6-8 feet in length. Is this true, or do they grown even larger?

Re: Green Mamba Husbandry (Humidity & Misting)

I have never been to Africa, and you'd know more than me about Eastern Green Mambas in the wild and their captive husbandry, but don't they live in tropical rainforests that have a lot of humidity?

Re: Banded Snouted Cobra Eggs.

Craig,
Those adult banded snouted cobras you have are outstanding looking! They are obviously well fed and good looking specimens. Great husbandry work!
Take care,
Drew
