I follow a well known retic breeder on facebook and he pointed out an interesting fact the other day which ill try sum up in a nutshell. Joe Blogs advertises his new batch of hatchlings @ R250/head (market value). Joe Smith who also bred out the same snakes decides to sell his for R200 so he can hop...

Re: Rooibos does it again.

Rooibos has some seriously funky stuff going on with it. A girl i once dated used rooibos and bees wax to treat any cuts that her horse had while outback riding and it healed those wounds incredibly well. So being the curious minded person i am, i tried it out on several snakes i had rescued on call...

Re: COBRA BITE - LIVER PROBLEMS

BV, why has nothing been circulated around the medical fraternity by the likes of Dr Blaylock and Dr Wood? Those are two highly specialized doctors who work alot with bites up in the Zululand area. Majority of those bites comprise of Mfezi and Puff Adder bites..... It bugs me that we do have experts...

Re: First D-SLR

I would say get a camera that fits your budget. Im a fan of Nikon, but i know canon will produce your required shots. Personal preference i guess. The nice part about Nikon is that if you look around, you can pic up some amazing kits and you get a R2500 voucher to go for half a days training to lear...

Re: Why herpers get a bad name

That is really sick!!! How the hell a person gets away with that is beyond me. To sit and play around with that kitten then to entice it to roam into striking range is just so wrong. Im pretty sure that is criminal. Eish!!!! Talk about messing up my day! :(

Re: Midwest 40" Standard Tongs? Your opinion on them?

I have not had an issue with midwests and have used the normals, normal collapsible and the M1. The slotted finger grips are a bonus and are available on the M1's and the collapsibles. I personaly would opt for foobles "Tangy Tong" range as i believe the open end wind holes allow for const...

Re: South Africa's Bite Darwin Award Winners

Re: Muthi Makes me Mad!

Its alot like walking down there by Warwick Market in Durban. You get to see animals that you and i can will hardly ever see due the fact they are almost extinct and sadly these are all dead and are being sold off to help increase the chances of winning the lotto. I seriously dont think King Shaka w...

Re: Old lessons, almost got a new teaching…

I think you win the award for creative writing. LOL!!! I have this mental image of a guy who looks like Mr Furly (from that old sitcom, Three's Company) bolting out with a floral silk shirt and giving the Brady scream "IT BIT ME IT BIT ME!!!!". Geez this was funny, but at the same time cou...

Re: Boomslang Bite!

In all due respect, if it was a dry bite then there really isnt much left to the story except the guy now has some puncture wounds where he was bitten. Ive heard of a few cases in Northern Kzn of dry bites (luckily). I dont know of this recent one or any other details on it.....Ill keep eyes and ear...

Re: First time ever treatment for Snouted cobra bite

Well done BV on helping out there. To Jenna and WW, good going on the alternative treatment and with the success of it. It is brilliant news and this needs to be passed along to the medical fraternity in areas like Northern Kzn as well as Swaziland where bite stats are pretty high. Could this treatm...
