Re: Crested gecko breeder CT

Hi, I might have a couple of cresties coming soon, first time laying so I dont want to count my gecko's before they hatch. I do know where you can get hold of some Madagascar Day Gecko babies now.

Re: Natural environment

Hi, found a link from a guy called Crabtree which has a similar system to the original one you mentioned above. Everything seems quite straightforward, do you use earthworms or any other form of live insect to help you maintain the system? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Natural environment

Hi. Thanks for the information, the website I was reading was taking about a very difficult setup and your info just lead me to a couple of threads on pill bugs. Safe to keep with Gecko's and they will sometimes eat them as well. So now to go search for the little buggers...

Natural environment

Hi, I have been looking on the internet and it seems there is a way to set up your vivarium in such a way that it never needs cleaning. I can only find a UK website and the products they mention are all unfamiliar to me. I was wondering if anyone in SA has been able to do this and which local produc...

Re: Permits for Gecko's

Hi, I am trying to get some Gargoyle Gecko's. I understand they have about the same requirements as the cresties, which I know is not a problem in Western Cape.

Permits for Gecko's

Hi, was wondering if anyone knew how to get a permit in Western Cape if you intend buying a gecko from Gauteng. Western Cape Nature requires that you give a permit number on your captivity license. I have heard that they will confiscate any pets obtained without this. Any suggestions would really be...

Re: Crested Gecko and Baby food

Hi, Yes I intend getting that as soon as I integrate the female (She is only 7 months and the male is over a year old) into the same cage. I was told to keep them seperate untill she gets to about one years old. Bit to expensive for me to purchase for both vivariums at the moment so the wall panel w...

Re: Crested Gecko and Baby food

Hi, just an update. The fresh fruits are working very well, he is eating it and loving it. I installed a heating panel against the wall which I keep on 24/7. Temperature in their vivarium now ranges from 18 - 22. My female ate 2 live cockroaches last night so I think the temperature story has been s...

Thank you very much for your input, I really appreciate it, I have a 75W light which I only kept on at night, but will keep keep it on for the whole day and see if I can get the temp to about 25 degrees. I will also start mixing the peach and pear baby food for him. I just found Repashy GCD online w...
