Twigs do that, they seem to be really confident that they cannot be seen so even when they spot you, they just chill. I have actually only ever seen one or two in the wild. very well camoflaged

I have heard that you can use something like Vasaline to cover the wound an suffocate the thing. Not too sure if that is a good idea or even if it would work?

LOL@BV, that's what I mean though. A dog should know how to react to the snake, then everyone is better off.
