Re: Hypocrisy, poor conduct and rudeness

Here we go: A perfect example of lazy posting. This topic is by the same member that I incorrectly had a go at with the distasteful image as mentioned earlier in this topic. As you can see some people are incapable of taking a hint, or they just couldn't care less. Over 40% of this persons's posts ...

Re: Cape Reptile Club

I see no reason why there cannot be two separate organisations if need be. If this means that more people will become involved it can only be for the good. I don't understand what we can compete for. All such competition - in my opinion irrelevant. I agree with chamcode.

Re: Western Cape people (CPT region)

However true this may be Atropos, regulation is not prevention. Rather create a system where people are educated about the possible dangers of releasing the animals. And make it easy to resell the animals (because if it is too difficult, people just release them). Also, reptiles are not the only dan...

Re: Western Cape people (CPT region)

Rodwraylva, what is wrong with getting the correct paperwork? It takes time but that's government unfortunately. Get yourself a catch and release permit and then you're legal. If you don't have one call someone who does. The permit system, although it's admittedly far from perfect, is there in an a...

Re: Western Cape people (CPT region)

Atropos I know officials in Cape Nature who simply disagree with keeping reptiles! Cape Nature has a very backward approach to conservation, so much more could be achieved if they were prepared to work properly with reptile keepers, this does not include paying for permits, your tax should have alr...

Re: Western Cape people (CPT region)

Hi All. Just a quick update. The meeting was very positive! Shaun was not voted on the Committee even though he called the meeting and he will not have voting rights at meetings. I was voted as Chairperson (we have a transitional Committee of four people) and currently working on a Constitution for ...

Re: Need help on choosing my first cobra!!!

What do you plan on doing with it? - Just keep - Breed - Handle for practice - etc All these make a difference. There are guys on this forum who keep venomous snakes and NEVER even touch them. According to me that is the way it should be done, but opinions differ. If you plan to handle it, a calmer...

Re: Establishing Cape Reptile Club/Society

O.k. Please send me an e-mail at caperep@gmail.com if you want to be a member/take part/help. I'll decide about the cost later - basically we'll just need to cover expenses, so it will be something decided at the first meeting.
