Finds from the last few weeks. Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Besides a specific trip to find Leptopelis xenodactylus - Long Toed Tree Frog a critically endangered amphibian that is restricted to flooded grasslands and marshes. Afrixalus spinifrons - Natal Leaf...

Re: Bradypodion thamnobates - Natal Midlands Dwarf Chameleon

They are brilliant little dinosaurs. Their gular crests look very reduced or are they just juveniles ? These aren't the typical ones, it's a new spot I found they're very different to the ones at the other location I gave Gary where you guys got those two adults. These specimens are much smaller. I...

Re: First Herping Trip of the Season (with a lifer)

Very Cool,

Interesting to see the Scelotes mirus and the Swazicus are often found in close proximity to one another.

Where exactly was this?

Bradypodion setaroi - Setaro's

Another weekend out scratching around produced 15 or so of these. Setaro's Dwarf Chameleon are only found in a small stretch of coastal bush along the Indian Ocean Costal Belt in South Africa and just into Mozambique. They're prolific in certain area's and totally absent in others. Sub Adult Female:...

Re: Bradypodion transvaalense - Transvaal Dwarf Chameleon.

Hey Mitton, of those Bradypodion nemorale and Bradypodion ngomense would be the toughest. They occur in small patches of dense forest in Northern KZN. The area's are not the safest either and there's very little information on them. Should have a big one off the list done by August if the odds are ...
