Re: Stiletto Bite

Was it the one where the guy got bitten in the thumb? If so then yea I saw it awhile back and it was nasty! I did a quick search and found another Stiletto bite story ...A Stilleto bite to the index finger...Looks about equally as fun as the thumb bite   http://nottinghilltonowhere.wor...

Re: Other hobbies

I did some boxing when I was still in school. It’s fun. As for the bjj I know what it is I just didn’t know the abbreviation, other than grappling and ground fighting it teaches you to use your opponent’s strength and movement against himself, thus not using so much of your own, in theory it would ...

Re: Dog kills snake which bit owner

Or it just killed the snake like all dogs do. Jip but I don’t think a dog gets up in the morning and decides, mmm lets go hunting snakes today? A dog, cat will kill or try to kill a snake cause it sees it a danger, remember they can’t pick up a book and say oh wait this one can’t do anyone harm let...

Re: Rhino Horn, whats your opinion?

Thanks...Sounds like the best possible solution especially if cutting off the horn affects their natural behavior and makes them more vulnerable to lion predation. By the way is their anyway I can change my name? Lol it's probably hard for anyone to take my posts seriously when my name is "yoso...

Re: Rattlesnake venom & advice?

-Qball, I see what you're getting at. If you want to know which buzztails have the least chance of putting you in a box, I would have to go with Crotalus cerastes . Not much venom and not very potent. Remember that even some of the Pygmies and Massasaugas have neurotoxins. A Sidewinder bite would b...

Re: Rhino Horn, whats your opinion?

Poisioning the horn doesn't hurt the Rhino because the horn is not connected to the skull correct? It is just keratin and not bone with a blood supply attached.

Re: Rattlesnake venom & advice?

Just a question From the link provided by Unforgiven it read “Mohave toxin; this toxin does not occur in every individual Mohave rattlesnake”. Will this be generic? If it is can you through selective breeding so to speak reduce the potency of a species? Probably because venom composition/potency va...

Re: Rattlesnake venom & advice?

Something missing from my collection, which are mostly local species, are rattlesnakes. One of the rea I keep mainly local snakes is due to the fact that there is anti-venom on hand if the need ever arises. For a little while now though I have had this notion of getting a rattlesnake. Getting hold ...

Re: What on God's good earth is this about???

I think it might be a venomoid. They take the snake's fangs and venomglands out and replace it with silicone implants.I have seen a lot of venomoids popping up recently :p Thats exactly what is it...You see it in India with the cobra charmers...the cobras either have their fangs removed or their mou...
