Re: Just a quick question (Corn Snake Substrate)

Kenaf moulds easier, the snakes don't seem to tunnel in it as much, doesn't mask odours as well and I hate the dust, but it is cheaper... You should still be able to order Aspen from most Pet Shops... For a small collection it is the perfect substrate for a Corn Snake. I'm going to get myself some A...

Re: What do you prefer - Aspen or Kenaf?

Shouldn't be a problem for Iguana's. I'm currently using Kenaf as replacement for Aspen in a small collection. Has four drawbacks when compared to Aspen: 1. Doesn't mask odours as well 2. Moulds much more easily, thus I need to replace more often 3. Corn snakes doesn't burrow in it that much - for t...

Re: Aspen Bedding

Aspen bedding is imported and as a result is very expensive. I often wonder why nobody has done oak or willow or one of the other non toxic light woods in this form. Good question - we should start a business... I tried kenaf, but it moulds easily and doesn't really keep odours at bay. Also, nothin...

Aspen Bedding

I realised that some online pet shops stopped to stock Aspen Snake Bedding. Most Pet Shops also doesn't regularly stock this in my experience.

Is there anywhere (preferably in the Western Cape, or anyone that delivers in the Western Cape) where I can buy Aspen Bedding in bulk - or relatively cheap.

Re: Cape Town Herpetological Workshop

I'd also like to know what happened with the meeting - could not be there because of end-of-year exams. Can someone please give an e-mail address or number to call for permit application. Because I've e-mailed quite a few people from Cape Nature, never with a reply. I'd like to do things legally, bu...

Re: Husbandry/ Reptile Keeping Course - Western Cape

Sorry guys, I just want to make it clear: I am not organising this course or trying to promote it. I can not give you much info on the course, BV will have to confirm in the end. I only want the course to come to Cape Town for my own good :-) the only way the course can get to Cape Town is if there ...
