Name your snakes???

I find this is always a good question. If you do name your snake, why?

How do you go about chosing a name?

I name my snakes. Many people find it silly or pointless because the snake can't hear & won't come if you call it but they're my pets and all my pets have names. It makes it alot more personal.

The names I give them I would never give a child or a dog.
The names I choose usually come from Greek Mythology or Royalty or History
Damn I'm going a bit deep here.

But my snakes names range from Cleopatra to Cassiopeia to Galadriel. I suppose it depends on how I feel the day I get the snake  what appeals to me or what movie is my favourite.

i name my snakes cause i find it easier when it comes to communication about the snake.

i also try give em descriptive names (eg hog noses due to speed i called thing 1 and thing 2, or my rainbow is called 7of 20 cause she is no 7 of 20)

I only gave my boa a name, the rest are coded eg. sinsloan milksnake 1 is SM1 , california king 1 = CK1, pueblan milks are PM1 etc. it just makes record keeping easier for me than names.

Yep I also name my reptiles

Most of the time the name comes from a feeling about the pet ( because thay are my pets )

Also to keep records you have to code them so i think a name is no different just more personal 8)

I generally dont because I cannot always remember the names.

I did however name some of my snakes. There's JP, who was named after his previous owner who was murdered last year, there's PMS just cause she seriously has PMS, there was BullDog which I chose becuase her bottom jaw was longer than the top, and she really did look like a bulldog (RIP) and there's Baby, who is the sweetest little girl Boa you cold have, well, second to BullDog.

I also have Peaches who is another Boa who is a very nice peach colour.

My snakes are called:

Lita (female red tail boa) after WWE
Goldberg (male CRB) also after WWE
Ashley (female normal corn)
Mary-kate (female BRB)
Ohlsonn (male BRB)

All these names were chosen by my daughter who loves the Ohlsonn twins and WWE

people tend to name the non-venomous snakes. I am yet to meet a venomous keeper that has named his charges. anyone?
