Ordinary pillow cases ok?

Postby Vrakkie » Sun Dec 18, 2011 4:48 pm

Hi

I am so over protected towards my snakes I am planning to take to the Far East.
Would thin ordinary pillow cases be ok to transport them into the transport containers? The pillow cases are "see through" if you have a look at them from the inside.

Don't want to take any risks.
Thanx

Hi Carlo, yes a normal pillow case should be fine. Some people put some crumbled up news paper in with the snake.

That will be fine, if you dont want to put news paper in with the snake try and stuff the box with something soft that will absorb any little knocks that might scare the snakes.

Good luck with your trip buddy!

Pillow cases are fine but look at the IATA regulations for transporting snakes. The bags have to be inside a box and stapled down so that they cannot slide over each other and suffocate another snake, or else they must be confined to a separate division inside the box itself. Discuss this with your shipping agent.

also use the pillow case inside out - keep the nice smooth side on the inside for the snake and then cant get tangle in the stitching/over locking.
You know, you can touch a stick of dynamite, but if you touch a venomous snake it’ll turn around and bite you and kill you so fast it’s not even funny.
