Hi All

I think I have the smartest Garter snake in the world.

She waits until I clean the cage and then she cr@p's on the fresh newspaper, I change my the newspaper 2 to 3 times a week sometimes 4 times a week with my female Garter (Some days its like she's having her very own Shitting competition)

Anyone else expierience this with there snakes? I notice my King doing the same, waits for fresh paper to cr@p on

Yip.Most of my snakes almost seem to wait till the paper is changed before they DEFICATE or POO.lol .It is very common.

I feel beter now that I know I am not the only one thats expierincing this, I always feel bad when we get vistors and my snake cages look dirty even though I cleaned them only hours earlier.

My Hognose does that regularly. On the other hand my BHS never does it. One is the naughty child the other one obedient.

Some snakes will use this as an method to mark their territory and you cannot get that out of them.

Not all snakes do this but some species are more prone to do this. Even juveniles will do this to keep even their own siblings away. Two snakes living in one small area is never good because they cannot share the food they catch. That makes them rather move along until they find a new uninhabited area.

Wow, I never even thought that they would "Mark" there territory, like big cats and other animals.

That is very interesting, i suppose the kings will do this to warn other Kings that its there hunting Grounds.
