Ranching of reptiles or any other wildlife is where people go into the bush and catch gravid females. These are brought back to the facility where they are kept until they have babies or lay eggs.

The young are then exported and the mother is supposed to be released back into the wild. Usually in the case of Blood pythons however she is killed and skinned. The Ball pythons are usually sold as food although Boa constrictors are usually released.

Iguanas are usually sold as food or kept in huge enclosures where they basically look after themselves until next year.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.

Thanks BV, do alot of these end up in our petshops and is it legal? I asked a petshop if they were expecting male gaboons and he replied they are expecting a shipment. Just makes me wonder
