Awesome boivinis..
That like a carpet type thing in the background? You find your geckos hide behind there?
I used something similar when keeping Tokays, worked really well.

Hello,

in the background its sisal fibre, they dont hide behind,i have it in the enclosure for humidity. The geckos are about 28-29 cm,and they can bite like tokays. This year i moved to a new flat, and when i catched the female boivini, she shouts like a female tokay, only louder.Didn`t expected it,so i frightened and let her go.2nd try,she shouted again, but this time, she had no chance

The common name is Madagassian Giant Gecko. So this species is called in Germany.

regards

Matthias

Ah that is very nice!! They must be awesome. How easy are they to keep. What do they feed on? Just insects or fruits as well?

Hello,

they live sympatric with Mad grandis, high above in the trees. It´s said, that its difficult to find a harmonizing pair.I got luck, that mine are doing fine.I own them about 1,5 year,I got 2 clutches, but they glue their eggs,so i broke the first eggs

The second clutch was eaten by crickets,my damn fault. Then I moved 2x,so i hope, this year they will breed :smt023

I only feed insects, crickets, roaches and sometimes a naked babymouse. But I should try to feed fruit,it can´t cause damage,if they eat it.

regards

Matthias

LOL! never thought of it like that.

Incredible! Thanks for the info on this species and good luck. Keep us posted.
