Is it a male or female? Can you get a mate for it? What do they cost?

Please tell us more about these guys that you dont read in a book!

now now, there is nothing wrong with readin books!!!

leachies have kept their value, still getting around 300usd each. depending on locality and sex, Phillipe DeVosijoli can usually sex really young ones, and i got a pair of Gran Terre's for around 800 from him, which was a personal favour.

they are awesome geckos, the first time i saw one, it look like a kitten, no lies. i have a pic of my male here, this was a different morph, unsure from where, but it killed my female and was promptly sold, that was last year though.

The book i gave away in SA, Rhacodactylus is really the best work on these awesome geckos and a must have for anyone. !!

cheers. don

found this pic on the net, just look at the size!!!

they are really placid in captivity, unless they are wild caught...
the founding stock is still at my mates house, and when you go in the gecko room, they growl and strike, no lies. The locals call them demons in the trees, but as CB, they are awesome, so mellow!!

Hello,

@BV and Pinky: Its an unsexed youngster,6 weeks old,get it from a breeder in Germany for 250€. The henkelis will be a little bit smaller than leachianus leachianus.

Its the Pine Island Form, hope it will grow up and then looking for a mate..

@horridus: very beautiful pics,at which age can deVosjoli sex the young ones? Can you do it,too?

I will post the pics you need.

regards

Matthias

Yeah Horridus but you did not give the book to me so I have no idea how good it would be. Hint hint.

The little things like how aggressive the original ones are and things like that you dont get from books. I also did not know that they could be so aggressive to the opposite sex. I know the males fight like demons and even two brothers raised together will try to kill each other if a female is introduced.

I saw some when I was in the US and they were super placid. They are also kept pretty cool compared to most other geckos. I have not seen them available locally so I had to settle for R. ciliatus which are not quite in the same league but nice experience for when I can get leachianus.

That would be great. When I was in the states the people all said that his was the book to get but nobody had any for sale!

Please keep a book out for me at the expo. It is usually hectic and I dont get to see everyone in time and then the stuff is sold out.

Is there any chance that you could import some of those sexed R. leachianus for the expo? Just one pair would be ample!!!!!!!!!
