Snakfood laying eggs

Snakfood laying eggs

Postby Hennie » Sun Sep 23, 2007 1:04 pm

Hi All

I caught two Day Geckos to feed to my juvenile Mole snake. After a few days I found two little eggs in the gutter of te sliding glass.
Anything special that I must do in order to hatch these?

Thanks

just put them in a container with damp vermiculite with a couple of airholes on the side of the container and hatch at room temp if they're from your area...but day geckos you say?as in phelsuma?or do you mean lygodactylus?

DON'T try to remove them if they are stuck to the glass pane,you would break the thin shells...the best thing to do is to place a plastic box with tape around the eggs and fill the bottom with damp moss ;

Trayton if he is catching Phelsuma then I will rush around to help him remove them.

The eggs look like Lygodactylus eggs. I cannot recall that they are "sticky" eggs and should be easy to remove. Just work VERY gently with them.

Room temperature is great to hatch these eggs. The babies are chocolate brown with orange tails. They are tiny and should be released the same day as what they hatch.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
