Sick Flap neck. PLEASE HELP!

Postby Sam2426 » Fri Nov 08, 2013 10:09 am

hi,

I took a flap neck chameleon from people I used to work for, because It looked sickly and needed proper care.

I spoke to a man at a pet shop he said i should make sure he gets enough sun a day and water, so I put him out all day so he can get warm and get uv rays, he was very thirsty and made sure
I sprayed him often. he does seem to be eating, not often though. he is sleeping a lot dunning the day, his eyes seem to look dry, red and sore.

please if some one could help me and tell me what to do.

I'm desperate

His eyes also puff up and he often rubs them on the branches.....

He has probably been subjected to a very dry climate and has messed up his eyes. This will also mean that he cannot see the food to eat it.

Search on this forum for tips on keeping chameleons and you should find everything you need. I would be looking at a fine misting system for a few days till he recovers.

Even though it is illegal we wish you luck in pulling the chameleon right. No zoo is going to bother trying to get this animal to recover so give it your best shot.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
