Replacing it once or twice a week prevents any bacteria from growing on there. I've never hear of people having a problem with that gel.

If it is trying to climb the walls, and at that size, it sounds like a mature male looking for a girl. Males do not stay in burrows and inteh wild they are always on the move, therefore the active behaviour in captivity.

I picture would help to confirm.

Take a picture from the top, of the whole spider.

Then that's a male, depending on how old he is and what not, they don't live long after reaching maturity and having their final molts. Just keep the humidity down a bit and see how it goes. And i havent't seen them actually make much use of hides as above stated. Dry it out a bit in there, not too dry though, keep it nice and warm (not too warm) and he should be fine really. The males are rather scittish and sometimes are shy feeders so don't get too stressed about it. try stay on a 5-7 feeding schedule.

That will be up to you.
But bear this in mind, they held over 500 odd slings in an egg sack.
And the market has been flooded with curlies, 15 egg sacks that are known of, wore laid and hatched out.

Mature males can live for 2 to 3 years, they will start looking haggard as they get older.

Your enclosure does look a bit to moist, so let it dry out a bit.
Then that is a mature male, has one thing on he's brain and that is not your enclosure.

I had a MM Curly that sadly has passed away. I never bothered to get him a girl - like fast back said, the market is just to flooded, and you will end up with 500+ Ts to look after. I have had quite a few MM Ts, and if I see them get really restless, I would take them out and let them wander my bed for a while to "stretch their legs" so to speak. MM Curlys may seem skittish, but mine was super docile. Don't worry about him not being happy - just because he is restless, does not mean he is not happy!
