Jamster: From where you live, I would guess that the Parabuthus species you've seen are P. planicauda or P. capensis. I have not heard of these species being able to spray venom, but they may be. Anyway, the chances of them actually spraying is very small. They have to be extremely provoked. I have never experienced spraying with any of my captive Parabuthus species, including P. transvaalicus.

Wolf...The spraying is for defence...Here's a pic I took trying to capture this behaviour but I only ended up with a lens full of venom...haha...(after the spray)

That's insane man, does the venom have the same effect as spitter venom when it gets into the eyes i.e just wash out with water?
