Hi Jridout, I think your scorpion may be O. pugnax if it was found around Joburg. This is a highveld species whereas glabrifrons is more of a bushveld species. pugnax is said to have a muddy look and corrugations on the last 2 sternites (the last 2 scales/plates on the belly, before the tail). Any experts out there?

I have a little koppie at the end of my street, there tons of these guys, pretty much under every rock.
Going to agree with Chris89 and say O.pugnax

Also get alot of Uroplectus wandering into my garage.

Is you name Jonathan Bruce Ridout by any chance.

I attempted to keep one of these about 8 years ago, I assume I did something wrong because It died after about 3 months, It did eat and build a burrow although.
Search for caresheets on burrowing scorpians that should give you a good guideline to follow.

Its me Kyle from CTI, the Instructor.

It's definitely O.pugnax. This one looks female...
Apart from being difficult to keep, this entire genus is also Illegal to keep in South Africa. Best course of action would probably be to take it to the koppie at the end of your street :)
