Some new stuff

Some new stuff

Postby Bushviper » Thu Jul 14, 2011 12:31 pm

After many months of wheeling and dealing I finally landed my retics from Prehistoric pets. The permits would have expired on Sunday so its been 6 months since I got them.

Some snakes will be for sale but they have to first do quarantine. Many that were supposed to be for sale are no longer for sale.

Here are a few of them:
Tiger het albino.

This what they can produce White tiger albinos,

These are rarer though the purple albino,

This is a two year old female dwarf het albino. They dont grow very big and can produce dwarf albinos.

Genetic striped poss het albino dwarfs. These are also quite old but still small. I hope they prove to be het for albino.

Now just to wait for them to finish quarantine. Then to make the final decision of who to keep? There are a few more that I did not get pictures of because they were in the blue.

The freight, customs duty, permits and inspections cost close to R30 000-00 so nobody must ever tell me this is what they cost in America and expect to get them here for the same price. The headaches make up for it when you hold one in your hands.

Mine! it's all mine! As soon as we can get Jacquis folks a lovely little spot at "Ons Tuis", their bedroom is becoming a Retic masterclass. Told you I'd figure something out.

Wow dude that is way cool. All the best with quarantine.
If you dont mind asking why did you pick prehistoric pets and not a closer breeder of retics? I dont mean a breeder in S.A but a closer country.

Probably because Jay Brewer is possible the best Retic breeder in the world and he personally guarantees his animals. He has also been to SA and knows the conditions here and even more specifically at BV's place.

Awesome animals BV. I have a super dwarf female needing a little loving... Just putting it out there :D

I've got a normal retic that is just over a year and a half now and she is just about 2m. What I want to know is is that the right length for her age? I feed her two large rats every 2 weeks.

Paul that is fine. Retics grow slowly if fed less often but can balloon if fed every few days. As long as the snake is not skinny then you are doing fine. Skinny means that the snake has folds of skin on the lower third of the body.

Ok, so if i sell my car....i would have the finances to take two of your hands, and more than enough space to convert the garage into the snake room i want. Watch junkmail....there will be an urgent sale car up for grabs soon.
They're looking great Arno!
