Next question. Will the two alien python species hybridise in the wild and how will they compete in the new habitat? A list of interesting questions may arise.

Oh, and I doubt we are talking about P. natalensis as the thread index suggests. It is in all probability sebae as an exotic.

I know the rock python and burmese can hybridise, they have a few at a snakepark near Plett. All the eggs from them have been infertile so they are mules.

WHY induce it? They should be careful when assuming outright that all offspring are infertile.

I can't remmemebr the name,it's between Plett and the toll gates. It's a very small place but got quite a nice setup. The story goes that the guy had he's big burm female and male afroc in the same cage while they where busy building a bigger cage. They got jiggy and long story short a few hybrids were hatched out.Any attempts to breed the hybrids has resulted in infertile eggs. They say no one trusts the hybrid, its got the burmese size with the afroc attitude.

The park is called Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary, very nice little park, much better than the excuse for a snake park that some Hillbilly's tried to start.

Anyway the point is they can hybridise but the offspring are infertile....
