My Dumerils

I understand that they are nocturnal and hunt mainly smaller animals. But I snake that strong should also easily constrict bigger animals, too.

You are quite correct, the key however is not in the size of the prey item you can kill, but rather in the size of the prey item you can swallow.

Having said that, my Dumerils easily put away Jumbo Rats.

What length and weight are those beautiful animals suppose to be before you can attempt breeding them?

Some people do try to breed them too early.

I would advise for the Female to be at least 1.3 meters in length and weighing in at least at 4 kilograms. ( 1,5m and 5kg is the safer option however).
The Male is fine at 1 meter and 2,5 kilograms.

There are people on the Forum who have breeding this species for longer than I have and may have a more informed opinion.

I heard that some people claim Dumerils to be bad feeders.

Mine is the best feeder I have, by a long shot!

Dumerils are not overly active. Mine like to chill on the shelves inside the enclosure.

As for feeding, mine have never ever refused a meal, my Female is known to eat, even when in the blue.

Bactroban is fantastic yes, but if you mix it 1-1 with Ketazol its twice as good.

I do breed them, and hopefully I should have some babies come the end of January or thereabouts.
