Dumeril Boa - Update

Dumeril Boa - Update

Postby cornell » Sun Jan 04, 2015 10:03 pm

Hi Guys

Just an update on my female Dumerils Boa.

She is 4 years old and is an absolute gem.

She eats like a world champion (a combination of rats and piglets).

Let me know what you guys think.

Really lovely snake. We do not appreciate these boas considering how rare they are in the wild.

Beautiful and nice and big. I doubt you will find a female Dumeril that does not eat like a champ, can be scary at times.

Do you have a male?

WoW - my little 60cm male wouldn't stand a chance... she would be able to slurp him up like a wet noodle ;-) hehehehehe

BEAUTIFUL Snake and really enjoying watching my little man grow and eat... and eat... and eat... AND EAT... Can't believe how hungry he is all the time.

Mitton is also so right - such a stunner of a snake and increasing rarity in the wild is a real pitty.

Thanks for the nice comments guys!

In my opinion this is one of the most underrated species out there.

@Mitton - I do have a male for her. He is in blue currently so as soon as he sheds I will post some pictures.

He is about 75% of her size and is a very pretty snake.

I was considering introducing them but I am really concerned about her feeding response.

I would like to get him a bit bigger (and do a bit more research) before I make any decisions regarding breeding.
