Why do you feed live prey though?
Does anybody else have the Hibby Dibby Jeebies?

I would refrain from posting such video's.
As most of the users on the site are South African I wouldn't want to encourage people to break the law.

I agree, bad quality video's like this and feeding video's should stay on Youtube were there are millions alike!!

Have you guys ever thought there's a reason for the snake eating live prey? Personally If the guys wants to feed his animal live and risk the animals eyes and so forth then I don't really care either. its their choice, but then maybe this snake doesn't want to accept dead food..

Ufortunately some animals will not take dead prey readily, so until then I suppose feeding live is best, however some snakes do get injured badly and even killed. But I think posting such a vide on on this site could draw unnecesary attention to the hobby, considering the whole stance on animal cruelty etc by the SPCA and other "animal activists"

One of my mates boa's had a rat fight back inflicting a nasty bite to the tip of it's nose.
He also learn a lesson. He now gives em a swift bash to the head before putting them into the cage at feeding time. When you do it right, you break the neck and the rats body will twitch for a bit giving the illusion the it's still alive.
Use it / don't use it... I wouldn't risk the health of my snake for entertainment value

The point is not whether you feed live or dead animals.
In certain cases we don't have a choice but to feed live and if you do then don't take a video and come display it on this site.
I'm sure everyone has seen a snake eat live prey.
Having a video of it doesn't up your coolness, it only up's your "i'm an idiotness"

Here's your sign!

Not my snake... My mates snake. It doesn't eat dead prey, full stop. It's a lil mouse, sure an anaconda can handle itself. Was bored so I put it on the forum :/ Didn't know that hippy's would cry, hell would break loose and that a fairy would loose it's wings (sorry for your loss Slayer69). ;-)

Although I have no problem with the snake eating live food, or the posting of the video clip, I have a problem with people saying their snake does not eat dead food. That Anaconda was smelling that mouse long before it saw it. It was not smelling life or fear, just mouse. Snakes cannot sense life, they go for smell, movement and in some cases, warmth.
That snake has an excellent feeding response and the mouse never knew what hit it!

My only aim here is to try avoid people buying this snake just cause they want to see it eat a living rat/mouse. As any 13 year old would these days.
Cause 6 months down the line when they are bord with seeing it eat they decide to let it go or whatever people do with snakes they don't want anymore.

Not everyone from this side of the world is a hippy.
Some people can just think ahead a little bit more than others.
I don't beleive in fairies :(
