A few recent African python Python sebae captures. Not the best pics as the lighting in the snake room is bad and so was the camera but you can still see how much more yellow they are compared to P. natalensis from SA

Interesting racks you guys are using. If I may ask, what were you guys keeping them for?

It's a Freedom Breeder python rack. I work for a company in Angola as a Wildlife advisor/ Reptile specialist and my main responsibility is the capture and relocation of Reptiles from sites which are being developed.

I got called out today to capture another python which had eaten a baby goat. One of our contractors had tied a baby goat to a rope on a stake at the edge of the bush just outside their camp. A snake person might think they were trying to invite a big python to come along and eat this poor baby goat. I seem to recall a movie in which this method was also used successfully to attract a T-Rex?


At least it was easy to find the python by follwing the rope.



She was quite thin for a girl her size and must have been quite hungry

I was pleased to get her back to our holding facility without her regurgitating her meal.

She was still stuck to the rope when I got to her and I just cut the end close to her mouth. Unfortunately she regurgitated the goat last night rope and all. I don’t think anyone wants to see pics of that but I may post them here anyway lol.

Oops, just realized that yesterday I was wearing the same shirt as in the previous python capture. Must be my lucky python catching shirt or something

The more I see sebae the more different they become from natalensis. Beautiful snakes.

I released her in a bamboo thicket next to a lake in an area that still has some game. Hopefully she is now busy digesting some wild prey animal and gaining weight.
