Hi Flix and All,
To clear things up for everyone, I was not on the trip when this snake was found. It was just my swiss friend and his friend. They released the snake. He also found a Bitis cornuta (Many Horned Adder) at the type locality of Bitis rubida (Red Adder) which I will post soon and submit to SARCA.
Flix: Send me an email to me at
pythonodipsas@yahoo.com and I will put you in contact with my swiss friend who owns the picture. I'm sure he will have no problem with you using it.
I wonder if that is the new form of Telescopus they are working on to be potentially called Telescopus namibensis? I have found some around Karabib/Omaruru in Nothern Namibia and they are often semi transparent so that you can see the eyeballs through the head!!! Amazing
