If you find some, let me know !

You also better be prepared for a hefty pricetag to follow...

You're looking at at least R7000 per pair.

They're also not easy to keep at all, but if you're up for it, go for it !

There are also a lot of legalities involved in some provinces in keeping these frogs. I suggest you get a hold of your local Nature Conservation and get some info...

Good luck !

if you need any more info, they got some awesome ideas and pics !

I know a owner of a petshop who said that he's able to get hold of them. For privacy reasons, I cannot mention his or the petshop's name in the post. Feel free to PM me for his detais...

What is a yellow phase? What species? Illegal animals @ R3000? Doesn't sound like a good idea.

Yellow phase is the species known as dendrobate tincotorius or leucomelas but there could be a dozen seperate morphs of this species so anyone who sells them as 'yellow phase' is a chancer and further more R3000 is not the going price for this species (when they are avaiable), just that they are rare so people are chancers.

I was told that the reason dendrobates are rare virus which is wiping out the species, which on further research is also a bit of bull, the panama golden frog has being eradicated due to this virus but in several parts of the world dendrobates are in the hundreds of thousands and if anyone tries that line on you avoid them cause they are more than likely involved in illegal trade and the species will not survive.

I would personally give both my testes for a small group of dendrobate but found out it is near impossible, it is rather sad to think this is a species that I have dreamed about since I was a kid and now that I have the income to support my hobby species like this (and others) are impossible to ever own and breed... That makes me a sad panda=(

Too much south park man :) It is a pity though, at least the bird park in monte casino has some to look at.
