I.D help

I.D help

Postby Chez » Tue Aug 20, 2013 3:18 pm

Hi peers, I'm new here. I'm hoping some of you could please identify this lil guy for me? A friend gave it to me this afternoon. It was found in Firgrove amongst some chopped down trees. I'm guessing its an adder but not sure about what subspecies. Less than 40cm in length. Very tempermental and quick to strike, although it doesn't make any hissing sounds. All help is appreciated.

That is a Red Lipped Herald Snake, not dangerous.

I thank you mitton. For a moment I thought it was a juvenile adder. Thanks for clearing it up for me.

Quite a pretty one at that.

They usually have a bit of an attitude, want you to think they are a little adder...
