Tortoise found

Hi guys,

I found a tortoise walking on our driveway and we put him in our garden in a safe and secure area, i was wondering if anyone can give advise if this is illegal to keep a tortoise and if anyone knows where i can find him a buddy, or is it illegal to buy tortoises in the Western Cape?

Could you possibly post a pic of the Tortiose for a ID?

I would just pop him back into the nearest veld as he probably wandered in from there.
