Wow, I didnt even know Heralds occur in Oudtshoorns, let a long the red-lipped variety.
You guys have a very interesting location; almost a cross between coastal, Karoo and fynbos. Results in a nice variety of reptile species.

How can we miss out on what seems like SA's most common snake (if you look at all the ID requests on fb)

Awesome photos of one of our prettier local snakes!
Was he trapped by a car or something because I note a funny shape to its body in the background, or possibly an older predatory injury.

@Foobie - I actually own the 55macro (60mm is the newer version), but this photo was taken with my 105macro.

Its not the same Harlequin, all the photos in this thread will be snakes removed on callout this season.
