Got a call-out today to remove a big snake that was harrassing workers on a farm.
Nice place in the mountain.
On arrival I ask where the snake was and one of the workers directed me into this old renovated Tobacco store.
As you know the roof of these buildings are very high and up on one of the ledges I just saw a tail hanging out. It was very dark and I could not see what I was dealing with so I got the tongs, glasses and up I went.
The effort in getting the ladder close was something to see..table ,Ladder on table etc
As I got closer I could see that the scales on the tail was ruff and not shiney and realized it was a nice big Rock Monitor(1m). :)
Now one of the guys were holding the ladder on the table.....
Close enough I used the Tong and grab hold of the tail and pulled it off.
The next thing this guy let the ladder go and as if in slowmotion the ladder,me and the likkewaan came down from about 4 meters.
Luckly I landed on the bed with the Monitor and the ladder to the other side.
You guys should have seen how they run when I got up with that Monitor.
Well all ended well and the Monitor was released not far from the building after a good talk, and on the owners request.
Hopefully the workers understand now that its not dangerous and that the owner will keep an eye out. ;)
