Great pics Darryn... I haven't found a wolf snake for quite some time now! They used to be plentiful in my area!

It was funny because I was saying to the guy that took us out that you get quite a few in your part of the world and I have never found one and within seconds we found it... I should have asked the herping gods for something rarer

LOL... yip.. you should have asked for an albino scale less puff adder!!! :)

I will organize something here in my area, and I know just the place. We can sleep over on my friends farm/lodge. They have a camp site deep in the bush on the farm, and I can get it for very cheap if we spend a night and have braai afterwards. I will let everyone know once I have spoken to my friend.

This is the place, but we would be deep in the bush camps. http://www.lagayim.co.za/index.htm

Great pics man. Well done.

Thanks Fooble, I have been practicing quite a bit with my little standard Sony DCS and playing with different light settings. I hope to keep some great photos coming this season!

Great photos,
Pity they are spoilt by overbearing copyright notifications. I do understand that you dont want people to use your images without your consent but don't you think that on a "display" site such as this that an understated watermark might be more appropriate? This is just my opinion and I dont want to offend but those fantastic photos would more easily be appreciated if we could see the whole photo. You may have specific reasons for doing it that we are not aware of, and again I am sorry if this causes you any offence, it is not intended too.
Regards

JP makes a point Buck maybe try watermark your photo's and perhaps put the copy right and your name on the same side or together?
Although i fully understand where you are coming from i've seen one or two of my own photo's being used on some websites it's rather frustrating!

Great pics, but is that not a Variegated Wolf Snake?

Fooble - The last pic I am holding it with a glove because it bit like a little demon

JP - No offense taken mate, this is the new way that I will be displaying photos now days, the copyrights are on a 40% opacity and are purposely placed in awkward positions. As a art director/graphic designer I know how easy it is to clone and stamp out a copyright, these are up to protect my photos from being replicated. I was told by an administrator of an American forum, apparently the guys over seas easily pick off photos from sites like such and use them for their reference books.

S4A- At first I thought it was a pygmy wolf snake because of the patterning on the head but I am still uncertain, what do you guys think?
